Manage Pinned Imports (Unlock and Delete)

Unlock, move or delete pinned imports without breaking the setup.

  1. When you link a DWG or SAT file, Revit usually pins it automatically.
  2. To delete or move a linked file:
    1. Select the linked element in a view.
    2. If you see a pin icon, click it to Unpin.
    3. Now you can:
      • Press Delete to remove the link, or
      • Move/rotate it if needed.
  3. To re-pin an element:
    • Select it and click Pin (icon in the ribbon), or
    • Use keyboard shortcuts like PN / UP depending on your keymap.

Tip: Keep large context files pinned most of the time to avoid accidental shifting that would break coordination.
